The AirSTREAM Control Cabinet Configurator Combines Flexibility and Efficiency

Automation specialist LÜTZE, based in Weinstadt, Germany, presents the new AirSTREAM Control Cabinet Configurator – a free web-based tool for the efficient design and optimized configuration of control cabinets. The configurator enables precise planning of LÜTZE’s AirSTREAM and AirSTREAM Compact wiring systems for any cabinet geometry, combining need-based layouts with real-time pricing and CAD-compatible 3D export functionality.
With the AirSTREAM Configurator, LÜTZE is entering a new era of control cabinet design. The intuitive, browser-based tool has been specifically developed for the requirements of modern control cabinet manufacturing and offers maximum flexibility and efficiency. The configurator guides users step by step through the entire process: from selecting the cabinet (all standard models are preloaded) and entering geometric data to arranging and sizing the rail system (VPSym, SR032). Components can be freely positioned, height-adjusted, and supplemented with accessories such as EMC profiles or the LÜTZE AirBLOWER. Existing configurations can be saved and reused for future projects.

A key advantage: the configurator is fully integrated into LÜTZE’s sales and production processes. Prices and individual discounts are displayed automatically, orders can be placed directly, and data is seamlessly transferred into the ERP system. This saves time, avoids duplicate work, and reduces coordination efforts. Once approved by the customer, the configuration data flows straight into production. The configurator also enables 3D exports in STEP format. EPLAN interface is planned for 2026. For additional user support, LÜTZE will soon provide comprehensive training materials and short tutorial videos for a quick introduction.
In the near future, the online application AirTEMP 2.0 will be integrated into the configurator. This tool enables realistic thermal simulations for control cabinets equipped with the AirSTREAM wiring system, allowing users to quickly and precisely identify effective cooling measures. Designers can enter cabinet geometry, installation conditions, and component data to obtain accurate temperature predictions. AirTEMP 2.0 takes into account the simultaneity factor and automatically generates the design verification according to DIN EN 61439, including internal cabinet temperature. This allows cooling concepts to be optimally dimensioned, energy savings to be realized, and operational reliability to be ensured.
The IoT-enabled AirTEMP Controller complements the ecosystem by recording real operating data and intelligently controlling cooling devices, paving the way for advanced condition monitoring functions.
